Design

The T8826WP is a robust tumble dryer with the build-quality you would expect of a high-end manufacturer like Miele. The front of the dryer uses a Direct enamel material which is guaranteed not to corrode or discolour for the life of the machine. It has an easy to use comprehensive dial control and slim line, legible LCD display.

The dryer measures 85cm (H) x 59.5 (W) x 59.6 (D), 107.1cm depth with the door open. There is an optional ‘stacking kit’ if you want to stack your dryer on top of a Miele washing machine.  There are 4 height adjustable screw feet

The drum is easily accessible through a large front-loading door and is illuminated with a durable LED light. There is a buzzer that sounds when the programme has come to an end and a fault diagnosis indicator ensures you’re in command of what’s going on with the machine.

Features

At the core of this dryer is the 7 kg capacity patented Miele ‘Honeycomb’ drum, which features an internal sculpted surface structure in order to create a thin film of water or air which gently cushions and protects the laundry within.

Miele have achieved the T8826WP’s efficiency by the inclusion of their ‘Heat Pump’ technology. Traditional condenser dryers use surrounding air to cool the hot air that has gone through the drum in order to extract and collect the moisture which has been removed from your clothes. ‘Heat Pump’ dryers employ a similar method, but utilise an innovative heat pump to rapidly cool the air as it exits the drum rather than using air from the room. Whilst the air is cooled, the moisture extracted from the clothing is condensed. This, now cool air is then reheated and directed back into the drum, achieving optimal economy and efficiency.

Alongside these unique features, Miele have naturally included everything you would expect from a dryer of this calibre, and indeed a host more. The T8826WP’s ‘Delay start’ feature does exactly what it says on the tin: allowing those with a busy lifestyle to put the start of their desired programme on hold for up to 24 hours to be commenced when convenient. There is a low temperature option for those delicate garments and ‘Anti-crease action’ to minimise the need for subsequent arduous ironing. ‘Fuzzy logic sensor drying’, in which sensors ascertain residual moisture and alter the remaining drying time accordingly is also included, along with Miele’s ‘Perfect Dry’ function. The T8826WP has 11 drying programmes available, the general ‘Automatic plus’ programme for drying mixed loads of cottons and minimum iron fabrics will probably be popular, but useful additional programmes are ‘cottons’, ‘minimum iron’, ‘express’, ‘delicates’ and ‘timed’.  More specialized options are ‘Denim’, a useful programme for those designer jeans as it prevents streaky discolouration and ‘Silks handcare’ which removes creasing from silk. The ‘Gentle smoothing’ programme reduces drum rotation to care for extra delicate items, and ‘Woollens handcare’, (whilst not a drying programme as such) revitalizes woollen garments and restores their fibres giving them a new lease of life.  Finally, ‘Pillows and large pillows’ will dry pillows and duvets, perfectly fluffing them in the process.  An interesting optional accessory which may be of interest is a drying basket for use on the ‘Basket’ programme.  This can be used for items not suitable for tumbling, for instance sports shoes and soft toys as the drum does not rotate on this setting but suspends the items in the special basket.

Design

The T7934 is a sturdy, contemporary tumble dryer of the exceptional build-quality that is synonymous with high-end manufacturer Miele. Another indispensable programme  is ‘denim’, this prevents the most common occurrences when drying denim garments: creasing and streaky loss of colour. The ‘gentle smoothing’ programme is also an excellent addition in which the machine slows the drum speed to care for sensitive items and is suitable for both dry and damp laundry to smooth out creasing caused by the spin cycle of your washing machine, whilst a Cool Air programme lets you air and freshen items. A delay start – up to 24 hours- allows you to dry your laundry at your convenience.

The Bosch WTE84105 Classixx 7 tumble dryer is a functional, mid-range appliance which has an in-built condenser unit so it doesn’t need to be placed on an outside wall, you can locate it anywhere – it can be built under in your utility room or kitchen or put in a spare room.  This makes it a perfect choice should you require versatility in placing the dryer in your home and although it may warm up your room, it won’t make it damp as the condenser unit efficiently extracts all the moisture without leaving the air damp.

The real value of this dryer emerges when you consider what is being offered at this price. Whilst not an all-encompassing features list, the Classixx 7 nonetheless boasts impressive functions for an appliance not intended to be at the upper end of the market. This is made even more valuable by the dryer’s B-rated energy efficiency, an excellent rating for a tumble dryer. Bosch has focussed on what is necessary and useful resulting in a great value appliance which should provide years of reliable service at a sensible running cost. It may not have all of the bells and whistles of some higher end models but at this price it would be foolhardy to complain.

Design

The first thing you will notice when looking at the Classixx 7 is its clean, functional appearance. It has a large, metal-hinged door for extra strength and stability which opens to 165 degrees to give ease of access.  The door is hinged to the right and is not reversible. Controls are clear, legible and easy to use with no obsolete or over complicated aspects to speak of and a large rotary dial acts as programme selector.

The drawer which collects the condensed water for emptying is conveniently positioned on the top right of the machine; a thoughtful design feature by Bosch, as it eliminates the need to bend down when lifting it out for emptying.  It measures 84.2cm (H) x 59.8 (W) x 62.5 (D) and if that’s a bit too tall to build under your work-top, the top of the dryer can be removed to reduce the height.  It has a 145cm long flex.

Features

As mentioned, the Bosch Classixx 7 boasts a pretty impressive features list for a dryer of this price. Most importantly, along with its B-rated energy efficiency award, the Classixx 7 can accommodate 7kg of cottons or 3.5kg of synthetics in its spacious drum, providing ample volume for drying. It has a smooth running, low-noise level during operation with an LED indicator to inform you when you need to empty the condensed water container or fluff filter. The machine is controlled with a large, fully electronic rotary dial and features additional touch control buttons for start/ stop and the low heat setting.  It’s easy and straight forward to use though it doesn’t have a ‘delayed start’ option.

A key feature of this dryer (especially at this price point) is Bosch’s inclusion of their ‘Sensitive drying’ feature which employs the Classixx 7’s large galvanised drum and ‘revolution drying’ system. This incorporates an electronic sensor which detects when the laundry has dried to the programme setting and automatically stops the machine. There are various options available which include both timed and special programmes which utilise ‘Sensitive drying’.

To the left of the rotary dial you will find the ‘Easy-Care’ drying programmes with three levels of results: ‘Extra Dry’, ‘Cupboard Dry’ and ‘Iron Dry’. ‘Iron Dry’ is especially useful as it leaves just enough residual dampness in the laundry for easy ironing. In addition to these three cycles, the Classixx 7 has a ‘Super Quick 40° option should you be in a hurry and a ‘Sportswear’ programme.

The right side of the selection dial mirrors that of the left (also featuring the aforementioned three drying programmes ‘Extra’, ‘Cupboard’ and ‘Iron’ dry) but is intended for cottons. There is also a ‘Timed Programmes’ option which runs a warm drying cycle for 20 minute intervals, this can be useful if you dry your laundry on a rack or line as it can be used to fluff up towels or soften and eliminate creases,

Finally, the Classixx 7 completes its abilities with an efficient ‘Anti-crease’ cycle which runs automatically for 60 minutes at the conclusion of any selected programme to facilitate ease of ironing. It must be said that Bosch have really considered the relationship between necessary features and good value for money in the Classixx 7, and it has worked a treat.
